Day 1 : Manado Samratulangi Airport – Tangkoko
arrive in Manado Airport, we will drive about five hours to Kotamobagu . With a few birding stops along the way.
Overnight : Sutanraja Hotel Kotamobagu
Day 2 - 3 : Kotamobagu – Tambun – Mt. Ambang.
Early morning breakfast 4: 30 am, we will visit Sanctuary Tambun, ( Maleo Bird ). Black kite, Sulawesi serpent Eagle,Black Eagle Red-eared Fruit-Dove, Matinan Flycatcher, Malia, Sulawesi Fantail, Purple-bearded Bee-eater, Pied Stilt, Oberholser’s Fruit Dove, Sulawesi Drongo. Much more
Overnight : Villa Emmita Tomohon.
Day 4 : Tomohon. Mt. Mahawu
Full day birding in Tomohon area ( Mahawu ). Birds Target to spotted such as:
Scaly-breasted Kingfisher, Sulawesi Myzomela, Sulawesi Pitta, Sulawesi-blue Flycatcher, Sulphur-bellied Whistler, Black-crowned White eye, Crimson-crowned Flowerpecker, Superb fruit-dove, Red eared fruit-dove, Sulawesi Cuckoo-Dove, White bellied Imperial-Pigeon, Turquoise Flycatcher, Snowy - Browed Flycatcher, Citrine Canary-Flycatcher, Blak Kite, Blak Eagle, Spotted Harrier, Sulawesi Serpent-Eagle,Sulawesi Hawk-Eagle, Wandering Whistling-Duck, Sunda Teal.
Overnight : Tangkoko Hill
Day 5 - 6 : Tangkoko Nature Reserve (Two full Days Birding)
We will begin early today and tomorrow. Tangkoko Nature Reserve, which have plenty of opportunities to see a number of Sulawesi endemic bird species such as:
Green-backed Kingfisher, Sulawesi lilac Kingfisher, Sulawesi-dwarf Kingfisher, Sulawesi pygmy Woodpecker, knobbed Hornbill, Ochre bellied-boobook, White-necked myna, Azure-rumped Parrot, Pale-blue Monarch, Ashy Woodpecker, Yellow-billed malkoha, Purple-winged Roller, Sulawesi Babbler, Bay Coucal, Sulawesi Hawk-Eagle, Spot-tailed Goshawk, Sulawesi Goshawk, Rusty-backed Thrush, Sulawesi Masked-Owl, Sulawesi Nightjar, Speckled Boobook, and much more.
Including: Mammals. The Crested Black Macaques, Spectral Tarsier and Bear Cuscus.
Day 7 : Temboan hill – Mangrove
we will have an early start with a drive of about 25 minutes to our next birding destination, Temboan hill. This is a great area view point next to the road where we will try to spotted some of the birds such as:
Yellow-breasted Racquet-tail, Ornate Lorikeet, Golden - mantled Racquet-tail, Sulawesi cicadabird, Pygmy hanging Parrot, Sulawesi hanging parrot, White - necked myna, White - faced cukoo-Dove, White - bellied Imperial-Pigeon, Gray-headed Imperial-pigeon, White - shouldered Triller, White - rumped Cukooshrike, Sulawesi Myna, Sulawesi-dwarf Hornbill, Sulawesi serpent-Eagle. and more.
We will head back to homestay to have lunch and rest a bit. After lunch we will take a boat to a mangrove area to look for Great-billed Kingfisher, and bird species such as:
Ospey, Kentish plover, pacific Reef-heron, Black-naped Tern, Sacred Kingfisher, Pied Imperial-pigeon, Gray-necked green Pigeon, Pink-necked green Pigeon, Whimbrel, Blue rock-Thrush, Grey-tailed tattler, Much more.
Day 8 : Tangkoko - Manado Airport - Flight to Ternate - Sidangoli
Early Morning After breakfast, check out drive to Manado Sam Ratulangi Airport (Manado) Flight to Sultan Babulah Airport (Ternate) Arrive in Ternate, we will cross to Sidangoli (Halmahera Island one hours by speed boat) Arrive in Sidangoli, before check in Royal Mix Soffi we will start birding in Sidangoli area.. Target bird species:
Sombre Kingfisher, Halmahera Paradise Kingfisher, Blue and white Kingfisher, Molucan Flycatcher, Molucan Scops Owl. And much more
Overnight : Royal Mix Sofifi
Day 9 : Sidangoli
Early morning check out we will birding along the road at Sidangoli (full day birding) Target Bird species:
North moluccan Pitta, Ivory breasted Pitta, Halmahera Paradise Crow, Beach Kingfisher, Moluccan Owlet Nightjar. And more
Overnight : Binagara
Day 10 : Aketajawe
Early morning after breakfast birding in Aketajawe lolobata afternoon check out drive to Subaim check in Balis Homestay. Target bird species:
Standarwing bird of paradise, Goliath Coucal, Dusky Brown Oriole, North Golden Bulbul, Moluccan Goshhawk, Mustached Treeswift, Common Paradise Kingfisher, Common Cicadabird Beach Kingfisher, Long Billed Crow, Gurney’s Eagle, Mollucan Cuckoo, Moluccan Dwarf Kingfisher, Golden monarch, Sombre Kingfisher, Rusty breasted Couckostrike and much more
Overnight : Balis Homestay Subaim
Day 11 : Uni-uni
Fullday birding at Mount Uni-uni. Target bird species:
Blyth’s Hornbill, Barking Owl, Azure Kingfisher, Halmahera Flowerpecker, Scarlet breasted Fruit Dove, White Streaked Friarbird, Chattering Lory, Halmahera Boobook, Cinnamon bellied Imperial Pigeon, Goliat Coucal and much more
Overnight : Balis Homestay Subaim
Day 12 : Mt.Roni
Early morning after breakfast drive to Mountain Roni. Bird species such as :
Halmahera Oriole, Moluccan Hanging Parrot, Red Flanked Lorikeet, Chattering Lory and other birds, after birding drive to sofifi than cross to Ternate by speedboat, have lunch in Ternate then birding in Ternate area look for Ternate Pitta.
Overnight : Marasai Villa Ternate
Day 13 : Ternate Airport
Morning check out drive to Ternate Airport.
